Private Whiskey Tastings in New York and the United States

A great whiskey tasting is not about pouring rare bottles. It is about telling the story behind them — and the difference is what makes a private whiskey tasting in New York either forgettable or the moment a guest brings up six months later. All Spirits Events designs and hosts private whiskey tastings in Manhattan, Brooklyn,, and across the New York metro area and throughout the United States, led by founder Adam Levy and a roster of working whiskey experts.

From a five-person bourbon flight at home to a fifty-plus-guest single malt experience at a corporate venue, every tasting is built around your guests and the story you want them to leave with.

A tasting led by a recognized whiskey authority

Adam Levy is the founder of the New York International Spirits Competition and the editorial voice behind The Alcohol Professor, a recognized industry expert quoted in Bloomberg and Bar Business Magazine. When Adam or one of our hand-picked whiskey hosts leads your tasting, your guests get context, storytelling, and the small details a working judge notices in the glass — not a script-reading bartender.

We don’t sell whiskey — and that’s the point

Most companies offering “whiskey tastings” are really sales arms for a distributor or a single brand. We are not. All Spirits Events does not sell whiskey, which means we curate the flight purely around what is right for your guests. Two ways we typically source the bottles:

  • We source for you. We pull from a deep network of distillers, importers, and small producers — including hard-to-find bottles, limited releases, and medal winners from the New York International Spirits Competition.
  • We curate from your venue’s inventory. If you are tasting at a restaurant, club, or hotel that already has a strong whiskey list, we will build the flight entirely from what is on the shelf — no markup, no waste, and a story tied to bottles your guests can order again on their own.

More than whiskey: cheese, chocolate, and full dinners

This is where we are different from every other tasting host in New York. We do not stop at the glass. Adam is also the founder of The Cheese Professor and The Chocolate Professor — sister editorial properties that explore those crafts with the same depth as whiskey. That means we can design:

  • Whiskey and cheese pairings — Islay malts with aged farmhouse cheddars, bourbons with washed-rind creamy cheeses, Japanese whiskies with delicate fresh varieties.
  • Whiskey and chocolate flights — high-cacao single-origin chocolates with peated Scotch, milk chocolates with sweeter bourbons, single-estate ganache with rye.
  • Whiskey-paired dinners — multi-course menus where each pour is matched to a course, served by your venue’s kitchen or by a chef partner we bring in.

Almost no other tasting company in New York can credibly host all three — and for corporate clients and milestone events, that range is the differentiator.

Group sizes, from intimate to large-scale

We host private whiskey tastings as small as 5 guests — perfect for board offsites, executive gifting, or a milestone birthday — and as large as 50 or more for sales kickoffs, holiday parties, and brand activations. Smaller rooms get conversational, story-driven instruction. Larger formats move to multiple tasting stations or a guided lecture with hands-on pours.

Your venue or ours

We run tastings at offices, private dining rooms, hotel suites, lofts, restaurants, or venues we recommend across the New York metro and throughout the United States. We bring glassware, water, palate cleansers, tasting mats, and the whiskey — or work entirely within your venue’s setup and staff. Whatever the room, we make it feel built for the night.

How it works

Tell us the date, headcount, location, budget, and the vibe. Within one business day we come back with a curated flight, pairing suggestions, format, and quote. From there, one short call locks the details — and we handle the rest.
